The Hop Plant Company part of Reclaim The Rain winning bid for Little Blakenham

Exciting news! The Hop Plant Company is proud to be part of the winning bid for Little Blakenham under the Reclaim the Rain initiative - a ground breaking project tackling flood management in rural communities.

What is Reclaim the Rain?

Reclaim the Rain is a forward-thinking collaboration between Suffolk and Norfolk County Councils, designed to combat flooding and drought in small communities. Funded by DEFRA’s six-year Innovation Resilience Fund Programme, this project is all about turning floodwater from a problem into a valuable resource.

Why It Matters

As climate change increases the risk of extreme weather, rural communities face growing challenges from both flooding and water scarcity. Reclaim the Rain offers a unique opportunity to rethink how we manage water, ensuring a more resilient future for these areas.

Reclaim The Rain Mission

The goal? To trial innovative water management techniques in six communities—three in Suffolk and three in Norfolk. Little Blakenham is among the lucky few, paving the way for smarter, more sustainable water use.

Looking Ahead

This project isn’t just about tackling today’s water challenges—it’s about shaping future policy and proving that rural communities can lead the way in sustainable water management. Little Blakenham site is setting an example for the rest of the country.

Stay tuned as we share updates on this exciting journey. The Hop Plant Company is thrilled to contribute to a greener, more resilient future!
