Bitter Gold was released in 1999. Its lineage includes Brewer’s Gold, Bullion, Comet and Fuggle. Super-alpha Bitter Gold’s features an alpha-acid percentage higher than any of its parents and higher even than Galena or Nugget, to which it is often compared.
Bitter Gold is quite versatile and can be used as a bittering or flavour addition imparting strong flavours reminiscent of stone fruit, watermelon and pear.
