Olympic has a complex lineage. Though its predominantly genetically derived from Brewer’s Gold, it also owes its existence to Fuggle, East Kent Golding, a so-called “Bavarian” seedling and a fifth, unknown variety. It is primarily used as a bittering hop, however some subtle citrus and spice aroma characteristics have been noted.
